We have currently set up a working dog club to train in Mondio Ring, PSA and French Ring.  We are only accepting a
maximum of twelve (12) members in this club.  We have put this club together to bring serious handlers together
who enjoy working with their dogs and want to have fun.  Please call if you have questions or are interested in
joining.

Mondio Ring translates into "World Ring". It is a combination of the French Ring Sport, the Belgian Ring Sport,
Dutch KNPV, and German Schutzhund. It is an international protection sport developed in the late 1980s by
representatives from every major participating country. The intent behind the formation of the sport was to provide
an international competition that combined the best of each country's existing traditions. Titles awarded in Mondio
Ring are internationally recognized.  This sport can be done for competition or for a more intense training.  Great for
Law Enforcement K9s.

The competition for Mondio Ring consists of three sections, always performed in the same order:

Obedience
Jumps
Protection

French Ring is a protection dog sport most similar to Belgian Ring, Campagne and KNPV, but also sharing common
elements with Schutzhund and Mondio Ring. There are 4 titles that can be earned, Brevet, Ring I, Ring II and Ring III,
each level introduces progressively more difficult situations and makes greater demands from the dog. The trial is
divided into three sections: obedience, agility and protection.

When competing in French Ring, the dog has no collar or leash on at any time except during the heel on leash. No
food rewards or physical corrections are allowed at any time while competing. Also, excessive praise/petting will
result in a loss of general outlook points. Points for an exercise will be lost for multiple commands, incorrect
commands, or failure of the dog or handler to perform the exercise correctly. Control is emphasized from the
moment the dog/handler team walks onto the field, until they leave at the end.

Ring Sport consists of a number of exercises. A dog that has been trained for Ring III level of competition will be able
to do the following:

Heel on a leash
Heel with muzzles
Long sit/down
Food refusal
High Jump
Palisade
Long Jump
Positions
Thrown Retrieves
Unseen Retrieve
Seen Retrieve
Send Away
Face Attack
Fleeing Attack
Defense of Handler
Attack with Gun
Search, Hold, and Bark with Escort
Stopped Attack
