Tracking
Tracking takes a serious commitment and is enjoyable for the handler and dog.  
and have fun while competing for a tracking title.  Patience, commitment and
persistence are crucial when teaching tracking.  

Sport tracking is started in a grassy area for easy scent identification by the dog.
Ideally the grass should be 6"- 8" and the temperature should be between 55  
and 65 degrees when starting tracking.  There should be little wind.  As the dog
progresses in tracking the terrain can be short grass, dirt, pavement, sand, metal
and wood bridges or stairs.  The end result is for the dog to track in any weather
and terrain.

These Flags are great for tracking.  Flags are used to
mark the track when starting a green dog on tracking.  
With the help of the flags you can see if the dog is off.
These flags are 4"x 5" and the staff is 21" for easy
visibility in tall grass.  We are currently carrying
Fluorescent orange.
